Default Two Curves, One Household

Please Login to Remove!

My wife just received her new Curve 8310 to compliment mine. Does she need to load her Desktop Manager and work exclusively from it to manage her own Apps, Contacts, Outlook, etc. or is it possible for both of us to work from my DM, yet have different Apps, Contacts, Outlook, etc.?

Thank you...

Nope if you want them seperate then you need two profiles.

seperate profiles in outlook yes, but not in DM. DM configures based on PIN so you can have as many BBs using that DM as you want, and just configure them differently.

Add an Outlook e-mail profile
Open the Mail Setup dialog box.
In Microsoft Windows XP
In Control Panel, double-click User Accounts, and then click Mail.
Note If you are using Control Panel classic view, double-click Mail.
In Microsoft Windows 2000
In Control Panel, double-click Mail.
Note The Mail module won't appear unless you have Outlook installed and have run Outlook for the first time.
Click Show Profiles.
Click Add.
Type a name for the profile (Outlook e-mail profile: A profile is what Outlook uses to remember the e-mail accounts and the settings that tell Outlook where your e-mail is stored.), and then click OK.
You will then be able to add an e-mail account to use in your profile. Follow the directions on your screen.

Your talking about a new profile in windows correct. I thought you meant you could sync 2 BB in the same user account and have 2 different contacts and calendars.

that is for outlook, not Windows, creates a new profile. this allows seperate contact/calendar/task/memo lists that can be synced with DM

Thanks again for the advise, but I can't seem to get my wife's new Curve to find our Outlook Contacts w/in DM. Can anyone refresh my memory on how I accomplished this on my initial Curve? It simply syncs and updates with each connection, but I can't recall how I initially set it up?

Thanks.

connect her device
launch DM
go into synchronize
go into configuration
go into configure sync
click calendar/contacts/task/memo
follow prompts to select outlook. (DM will ask you for the profile at this stage at the top of the page, says "use this profile")
next > next > done
