Default 8700 to 8800 Migration

Please Login to Remove!

I have loved every moment of my 8700 - no crashes -freezes ( former kyocera user), and even the small drawbacks on attachments, it has been a superb business tool.
Now the opportunity to migrate to 8800 available, and I would like to hear from those who made the switch.
Are you happy with the Keyboard?
Yes it was a pain to scroll sometimes with track wheel, but do you really like the trackball?
Part of the appeal of the 8700 was that it just did not breakdown - is the 8880 more vulnerable?
Adding music is fun, I guess, but then I read it cannot read files over 2.8 mgs -well if true, my music library tends to be 4mgs+.
Finally, can GPS work ( and all I mean just get your location coordinates) without subscribing. That is out fishing in the North ( out of tower range) will it read directly from satellite and give coordinates?

No problems for me...

1. The trackball is better for navigating around the screen.
2. I like the 8700 keyboard over the 8800 keyboard. The 8700 fits my hand much better.
3. The GPS work great! It's very sensitive and received a signal in most buildings.
4. The 8800 is durable. I've already toss the thing onto a hard tile floor, and there was no damage.

Default GPS clarification

bwalkera300,

TY for responses. Yes the 8700 does seem to be a better keyboard, but I think I can adapt.

The GPS question is as follows - without subscribing to a monthly service, can you access GPS just for coordinates ?
Next, is it satellite direct, or satellite - tower -BB ?

GPS is satellite by definition. You don't need any sort of subscription or data plan if you just want your coordinates.

Default Explain - non-plan acess to coordinates

Takeshi,

Ty for response. Can you then indicate how you do that with your 8800. I was fooling around with a loaner and did not see how one would access.
Yes I am aware of satellite feed, therefore you are indicating that out of tower range, you can call up coordinates.
