Default Found a 7100t.

A few months ago, I found a Blackberry 7100t on a bus. I have placed found ads in the local newspapers but haven't had any replies. I'm unable to see who the owner is by looking through his phone directory, etc, because on startup I am prompted to enter a password. Is there a way around this? What would I have to do in order to use this phone for myself? I don't know the first thing about Blackberries, but I'm guessing I'll have to purchase a new SIM or something. Am I on the right track? Thanks in advance.

Try going to T-Mobile. If you just try to activitate it, you may run into problems if the previous owner has reported it lost or stolen.

Okay, thanks. If he did report it lost or stolen, he's more than welcome to it! I know what it's like to lose pricey belongings.

You can also call TMobile and give them the SIM Card number. It will be linked to thier plan and they might be able to notify the previous owner.

BTW, you found it a few months ago and are just now looking for the owner?

I'm on an aircraft carrier. Not much I can do from out here, but like I said, I put it in the newspaper (yes we have a newspaper), but no one has come forward to claim it.

It's all good. We've finished doing flight ops and started our journey back, so I finally have time to do a little more research into the matter.

I won't ask why you had a bus on an aircraft carrier
