Default I keep getting call failed...

Please Login to Remove!

i've been given a previously used bb and when i tried to make a call it says call failed. also when i've called it from a different phone, it goes straight to answer phone and it doesn't ring, i also can't send or receive text messages. i've been told to check if i've got an it policy on it but when i go to Options > Security Options > General Settings to check, this what comes up:

Content compression: enabled
content protection: disabled
strength: strong
include contacts: yes

Services:
peer [BBMSGR](3DES)

there is no IT policy field.
help!

try looking under options - security - firewall
see if its set to block calls incoming and outgoing.

Are you connected to Wi-Fi? Whenever I try to do calls over Wi-Fi it drops out in the middle of it, so that might be related.

I agree with allenmarx posting. I had 3 replacement phones from Orange as my 8900 kept dropping calls. I finally twigged it was because I was connected to the wi-fi. I only turn the wi-fi on now when needed.
