i have an 8900 Curve, can anyone tell me where I find what OS it's running and also what is the latest stable OS for the 8900

Options > About will show you which OS version you're running. Also you could press Alt + Caps + H, or Alt + E,A,C,E. Another way would be to compose a new message and type myver.

If you're not having any issues, then there's really no need for you to upgrade.
