I have a question, please ignore my ignorance abt how a BES works. If I am looking to get hooked up to a work BES with my personal BB (which I use for voice calling and for personal email via BWC), and the normal work-issued BBs are unable to make voice calls (I believe the feature is locked out on the BB) is it possible for them to make an exception for my BB so that I can still make voice calls?

Does your office have MS Exchange with Outlook Web Access, check with you're IT guys.
If so you could use your office account with your BWC account, as long as you know the login details.

we do use exchange with OWA, but even with the correct login info the cingular BWC won't hit my server for some resaon - and also the 15 minute delay makes it impossible to carry on a realtime exchange, it only allowes me to monitor my email. We have a relatively liberal IT policy, I am curious if the technology makes it possible to lift a rule on 1 BB which is applied to all others (if thats even what the case is).

yes they could lift it on your BB if they wanted, it would require that they (the IT guys & gals) create an IT policy which is identical to the one assigned to you now, but with one exception for making outgoing calls. My guess is they have more than one policy already for your organization, one must include an allowance for making outgoing calls that also fits you as a user.

I don't know your organization, it's policies or how your IT shop manages your BB's so this is just an FYI.
