Hi all,

I sometimes get garbled msgs from a friend in Bermuda who uses his BB (don't know the model yet) and sends me text msgs to my Samsung SCH-U410 Cell phone. (yeah, I know my phone is not advanced, but it works for me).

Not every msg is messed up, actually MOST are fine, but it seems, oddly enough, when he texts me from INSIDE a building, it's crap, but when he goes outside, (no I'm not kidding here), it works fine. What the heck is up with that? I'll email him right now to find out the specs on his BB, who is carrier is, and so on. But for now, any idea why the inconsistency?

that is a tough one.
Only a guess... At work, we have a newer building with the newer film on the windows that prevents wireless signals and cell phone signals from going out. We had to install a repeater on the roof of an adjoining building to get the blackberry's to work inside that building.

Actually, I figured it out. the problem is my phone can only handle 160 characters in a single text msg, and my friend was sending far more than that from his BB. Simple problem. Simple solution.

You didn't tell us the size of the messages in your first post. The phychic tech support only has hours of 8am to 5pm.
