Default Changing SRP key

Please Login to Remove!

How do I change the SRP key on my BES server? I have a new SRP key that I got in a Migration Kit from RIM and I need to get it applied to my new server. When I setup the server I used the keys from my current BES server but cannot get the old server turned off soon enough to get the new server running so I had to get the second key for a temp solution so i can apply it to the new server.

1. Open BlackBerry Manager.
2. Select BlackBerry Domain. Select the Servers tab and then select the BlackBerry Enterprise Server name in the list.
3. Click Edit Properties.

The SRP ID and SRP Authentication Key appear on the General tab.

I found that spot but when i change them to the new ones they come back and say invalid.

Do i have to start the services for the key to take effect. I have all of the services stopped because they are the same as a production server and I dont want to lock that server out.

Are they sharing a configuration database?

What procedure were you provided as a part of the migration kit for using the SRPs? Please pardon my ignorance; I've never done one of these ...

I called RIM using my support.

The Migration Key was $799 and gives me a new SRP key and allows my old SRP key to work for 90 days. After 90 days the old SRP will be locked.

The new server runs on a new database.

The RIM T2 support solution to my problem: Uninstall BES and remove the database and reinstall and create a new database. This option worked for me because I had no users on this server yet.
