Default Activation then number change, should it still work?

Please Login to Remove!

I received a bb from our carrier T-Mobile and activated it on the bes server. Sent it to the guy and it was working fine. He went to a T-Mobile store and had his old AT&T number ported over to his new bb. Now his email is not working. Last contact date was 10/12.

I tried to "set activation password" and it must have contacted the server, the last contact date changed to a recent time but the bb received a "server not found" error.

Will this now work?

Is there a way I can reactivate it using the Desktop Manager? I cant seem to get it over the air.

Sounds like they changed plans and he doesn't have a proper enterprise data plan. If the PIN stays the same and there is a proper data plan no reactivation should be required.

Agreed. Hdawg nailed it.

Sounds like the new Carrier did not setup the data plan correctly.

If you want to test the theory, get the user to try to send you a PIN message fromygrie new device.
They will likely get a red X, and the Message Status of "Service Blocked".

We use Verizon 8703e and have a similar problem about 50% of the time when users "port" their previous cell number to the Blackberry. We figured out that to fix the problem, we have the user re-register with the Verizon CDMA network (Host Routing table, Verizon[240], click RegisterNow.

Host Routing table > Register Now does often fix it.

For some reason I thought the first post said he had tried that, but I guess not.

we did this with a number of users on nextel/sprint and never lost connection with the bes - the only problem we ran into was the new number info does not update on the bes unless you delete and recreate the desktop service book or do a reactivation.
