Default Mute Button on top of 8700

Please Login to Remove!

I have a tmobile 8700. On top of the BB 8700 there are two buttons. 1) power, 2) mute.

When I click the mute button, it beeps once very l loud then mutes my phone.
When my phone rings and I don't want to answer it or ignore it but I want the ringtone to stop ringing, don't I press that mute button? Am I doing this right? What's up with this?

Thanks,
ZJ

I wish it did that. Seems it works for messages only...I know mine continues to ring even after I hit it if a call is coming in.

Under OS 4.2 all you have to do is spin the wheel for it to stop ringing, but if you have 4.1 it will only temporarily stop the ringing.

yes the mute button is pretty pointless when not on a call, stick to spinning the wheel to stop the ringing

Also in addition to muteing the ring tone on the 4.2 version while in the media player it acts as a play/pause button. Not much help but just some info.

That's odd....I've got an 8703e and the wheel shuts the ring off for the entire call.
