Default Delete all e-mail?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a lot of forums subscrive and email me - at the end of the day I may have 250 - 350 emails on my black berry. Is there a way I can just say to delete the entire email content? I don't want to wipe or anything, just like "delete all" type of deal?

Highlight today's date at the very top of the list of emails in the messages screen and press the menu button and pick Delete Prior. You can also highlight a past date to only delete all emails before it.

Just a reminder that the "delete prior" trick only removes those emails from the BlackBerry view but actually does not delete it from your actual email client

That depends both on how you have reconciliation set up and who or how you have your e-mail reconciliation set up. If you have it set for delete on both Mailbox and Handheld and two-way sync is supported then it will in fact be deleted on both.

I "Delete Prior" all the time (well, not to do all my e-mail, but older ones (3-4 days) from my Yahoo! and GMail accounts). BIS support for two way syncing is available for both Yahoo! and GMail (and of course, BES supports this).

Not sure about other mail services (MSN, Hotmail, etc).

Very interesting... I have my GMail email set for delete on both Mailbox and Handheld and the "delete prior" does not delete from my Gmail client. The same thing with my company BES account, the "delete prior" only removes email from my BlackBerry and not my Lotus Notes client.

If I delete the individual email or groups of email (not "delete prior") than the email is deleted in the Client Mailbox and Handheld.

You know, you learn something new every day. I never do this on my BES e-mail but I do it on the Y! and GMail mail and I never really paid much attention to it.

And it turns out I am completely wrong.

My humble apologies for the misinformation. "Delete Prior" does indeed only delete on the handheld. Thanks for clarifying that, esm54687!

I read in the little online user guide thing today that there's supposedly a way to tap on the messages and group select them, kinda like shift-clicking in Windows. I even managed to do this earlier today, but it was accidental and I don't know how I managed it. Naturally I haven't been able to reproduce it.

Default Selecting multiple emails for delete

Hi Rob,

Highlight the first email you want to delete (keeping your finger on it) then with a second finger just highlight the last email you want to delete. This will highlight the emails between the first and last.... delete away !
