Why did they make the USB port smaller than ALL Blackberries past? If there is a reason for it, I will be a lot more forgiving. This being my 6 blackberry, I have accumulated chargers for any place I may be.. work, home, gf's, car. Now all those chargers are completely worthless. Is there an attachment I can get to make the old chargers compatible with the 8900? Why change a good thing? It's not like there isnt room on the 8900 side panel. Irks the hell out of me.

Maybe because it's the new freakin mobile phone standard.
The chargers are not worthless. To the contrary - there is a VERY inexpensive adapter that converts mini USB to micro USB.
You can search for it.

Yup.. freakin RIM! Who do they think they are making their phones like all the new ones coming out?!
Quoted from: Mini USB to Micro USB adapter solves BlackBerry charger incompatibility issues - $1.94 | Gear Diary
"17 Mobile companies (including: 3 Group, AT&T, KTF, LG, mobilkom austria, Motorola, Nokia, Orange, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Telecom Italia, Telefónica, Telenor, Telstra, T-Mobile, and Vodafone) have settled on micro-USB as their "Universal Charging Solution". They all plan on switching by 2012."
"Micro USB is designed so that the connector in the (relatively cheap) cable wears out, rather than the socket in the expensive phone. This is because the spring contacts are in the connector rather than the socket (as they are in Mini USB.)
IMHO this is a really good idea. Micro USB also looks set to have much wider adoption when it comes to phones than Mini USB ever had. Whether it takes off in other applications (e.g. digital cameras, portable hard drives) remains to be seen."

Now there is a reason I can understand. Not just that, because its the new standard. I dont give a shit what the standard is. Just because everybody else did it, doesnt mean you have to. Why would they care if others are doing it? Do that many people buy blackberry chargers for their other model phones? Doubtful.
I can understand about them not wearing out the device socket. So, thanks for that. I guess its off to best buy to buy 8 adapters.

I doubt they have them. Find (or call) a local T-Mobile store (not a kiosk) and ask if they have them.

Also, Monoprice.Com has USB - micro USB cable at VERY reasonable prices. I bought a ton of them when the 8220 (Flip) came out as it was the first BB with the micro USB connector.
