Heard new blackberry was coming out in Jan, some 8000 series. Not sure tho, if it is might as well get the 7520 since u going to have to wait half a year. Bb 7520 is way better since you can type better, more memory, better back light, gps and bluetooth. Your gonna miss out on these goodies wit the 7510 for half a year.

Plus the 7520 ois not that expensive. Plus I do believe you can get a $100 pda credit, so the phone ends up being around a $100 after rebate also.

PDA CR $100.00

Final Cost: 49.99

Amen to that wish I would have paid 49.99 for it. I might not be as protective of it as i am.

Thanks all for your comments....since I don't have a PDA to turn in, the best price I can get is $149.....is it really that much better than the 7510? I know bluetooth is a big feature...no more wires...but then I have to get a bluetooth headset, probably another $100?

A lot of people are just buying a cheap pda off of ebay. Some of these pda's you get a $100 for, you can purchase for $20.

PIN Help (used 6280)
Hello all:
I purchaed a used 6280 on ebay from a 3rd party reseller, while trying to register the PIN with Cingulair (AT&T branded unit) they show that it is still assigned to the previous owner and will not release the PIN for re-assignment until that user cancels the service, of course they won't give me any contact info for the previous user. The SIM card that came with the unit is un-assigned in the network.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. The seller has offered to refund my purtchase, but I would just as soon activate the unit.

I am in the same situation as the person who posted the original thread. With my 7510 - I e-mail 80% and speak 20%. My thought is that it may not be worth waiting for a 7100 model anyway and instead move towards the 7520. I don't know.

Mr Pink57 was referring to a pda to get the $100 credit.. not a BB..

As I mentioned in my post, I was properly responding to the content of the person in the original thread.

As an update, I went ahead and got the 7520 to replace my 7510. As mentioned many times by others, I was glad I made the upgrade. It has more memory, a better backlight, and bluetooth which I don't know how I lived without.

since i've had the 7520 i had to stop and ask myself how did i make it by with the 7510??

it was horrible in comparison to what i have now.....

but to stick to the topic, i dont think that anything new will be comin from BBerry/Nextel for a lil while...so far this would be the longest amount of time that i've held onto one phone which is a minor accomplishment...

7520 also has GPS capability. There are 3rd party services you can add to your Blackberry that will use the gps functionality to give you turn by turn driving directions.
