Greetings Folks,

I just got my 8350 World Edition a week ago & am running into a load of problems. Trying to figure out if I got a dud or if I messed with some settings or something.

First, I am not receiving any SMS messages. Not sure what the problem is but I just stopped getting them yesterday I think.

Second, when I go to Options> Status, I get a reading saying that I have 0 bytes left for File Free. Not sure how this is possible but that's what the bastard says. I cleared the cache to see if that would make a difference but it didn't. Still says 0B.

Third, I'll get a BB IM message, a notification for one, but when I go to the IM, there is nothing there. IF I reply, my response has a line space between my last response and the new one. If I rest my cursor on the empty space, I get a pop message saying when the IM was received but I just can't see it. The IM doesn;t even show up in my messages

Fourth, when I get missed calls I get a little window saying that I have a missed call and whether I want to view them. If I choose to view them, I get an empty log. What up with this?

Finally, for the last couple of days the BB does a lot of thinking for some bizarre reason. Just out of nowhere. For a bit, my BB wasnt reading my media card and I had to disable it and enable to get it to work. My BB could read it but not play any tones on it.

There are other minors things that are a bit annoying like setting my number not to show on the phone but it still does.

Other than making some minor setting challenges to my liking, I have installed Yahoo! IM (no problems after doing that) and Suduko (some problems a day or two after install). Both installs where dloaded from the Mobile Blackberry site.

Would love to figure this out so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Very common and very annoying problem. Remove the battery and reboot the device right away. Then read the following.

Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ

Additional information on memory leaks on the 8100 - BlackBerryFAQ

How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

The second link is from the 8100 faq's but applies to all the newer bb's.

Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

You're out of memory, and your device is basically freaking out because of it.
You need to delete some apps, pictures, ringtones, whatever, and email messages to free up some space.

Yep. Make sure the device is powered on when you remove it. You should do it at least once a week.

You can free up 2Mb by getting rid of the demo video.

cool. Finally got the batt cover off and did the reset.

Is there a way to move some data to the media card to prevent this from happening? Like the calendar or the contacts?

No, you can't move that stuff to the card. Just delete the demo video, the unused languages, etc.

Reboot the BB again. How much memory do you have after the reboot now?
