Default Device Manager has no bluetooth option?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7100 runninng 4.1 and Windows XP with service pac 2. When I click on Device Manager/Properties to enable bluetooth I don't see ANYTHING that says bluetooth or enable bluetooth. Does the blackberry have to be connected via usb when making updates to the device manager?

My PC doesn't have bluetooth built in but I purchased an extern usb bluthooth adapter. I'm tyring to sync to my outlook calendar and contact to my PC.

After searching the boards I can see that I can't use the drivers and software that came with my bluetooth usb but I must use the Windows SP2 version. But...windows does not recognize this kensington bluetooth usb. Does that mean I need to buy a different brand?

Help please.

Jason

If you installed the software that came with your Bluetooth Dongle, the the OS will not set up correctly with the MS software. Make sure you completely remove the software that came with the dongle. Reboot with the dongle removed. After boot up, insert the dongle. The OS should do a new device found and install the MS drivers.

It is finding the new device but it can't seem to find a MS driver that works. It asks for an install file?

I'm 100% sure. In fact I looked and see that I have the bth.inf file as well. When I put in the bluetooth adapter it says "new hardware found" but rather then fully installing it, I get a hardware install wizard that ask for the cd or specific driver location. I tried to point it to the inf file but that didn't work either.

Could it be that the windows driver doesn't work with this particular bluetooth adapter? When it is plugged in and I look at my device manager it show up under "other devices" with a question mark over it.

Ok, just went and got a bluetooth device that is approved for MS sp2. It is all loaded up and using the MS drivers. Now, when I click on the poperties of blackberry device manager I don't see anything that says anything to do with Bluetooth?
