Hi, before I ask my question, I just want to say that I know that Blackberry's were meant to be used with a BIS but can we overlook that for just a second? I just want to give T-Zone a try. After all, I dont really NEED BBM and Pushmail that badly.

Anyway, I heard that people are buying generic phones and then adding tzones on it. After they signed up for the plan, they buy an unlocked BB and just stick their sim card in it. After that, they are able to access the internet on their BB using T-Zones.

Here's my question, if I signed up for Tmobile and get a blackberry with the contract, am I able to later add Tzones onto my line? Or will they know that it's a BB and not allow it.

What if i bought the BB with my plan, but had them help me unlock it?

If you buy a BB when and with your contract; it will automatically have BIS attached to it.
You are required (with most companies) to have a BB data plan when buying a BB with them.

You can use T-Zones with an alternate web browser like Opera Mini, but you won't be able to download anything. And you won't get email at all, push or no push.

I think its a bit more difficult now because Tmobile requires data plans for most BB devices purchased through them. This wasn't the case prior to June/July of this year. The only exceptions might be the Pearl and Pearl Flip (which doesn't seem to require a data plan according to their website).

I was in a T-Mobile cooperate store last week and can confirm that a BB plan is not required for the pearl flip.
