Default All of Sudden.... HELP!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Gents... this happens to my Bold second time already... this am I had my Bold in the holster and then when I took it out to check e-mails it was on the default screen ( Roger's red screen ) - it seems that it turned off itself and then turn it back on??!!!!! I have a customized screen. Also, I noticed that a few icons were missing and the icon below the batt sign was not even there!!... I knew something is up and there are several "unexpected errors" popping up... I pulled the battery and then turn the Bold back on and all ok!!

This is the second time!! what is going on??????????????

Please help!! what can I do/ should I do??

Thanks

Bruce

What OS do you have installed on your Bold. I had reboot issues with earlier builds.

As a side note, it would be a good idea to update your profile to make it easier for forum dwellers to help you.

Upgrading is quite simple, given you follow the directions that are readily available in the 9000 forum. I would recommend you get off of 4.6.0.162, I had many issues with that particular build.

It may be simpler than that. Did you take a Media Card from a previous device and put it in the bold? If so, remove the card and see if it stops rebooting. If it does you need to store all the data on your PC then format the card in the PC and them do the same with it in the BB. Then move your items back making sure that you move no folder or index files.

Good Luck!

Well validate first. Take it out and see if it stops, it may not. If it doesn't follow the others advice. If it does stop then just reformat and carefully transfer. You don't need to buy a new one and if you do and just copy everything without transfering the index files and directory folders it will just start doing the same thing.

Good Luck!

If you do upgrade at any point, .210 is a stable build, but many users like newer builds. Try .190 or .210 to get a feel for upgrading your OS.

You can always find the newest official release, and older releases in the sticky in the 9000 forum.
