Default Address Book Sync Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I am syncing my wife's contacts from the Outlook Express Address Book to her Curve. I am doing a 1 way sync and clearing all data on the device. My wife had my picture stored for my contact. When I sync, my picture gets attached to over half of the contacts. Anyone heard of this and anyone have a solution? I have wiped the address book off the device using the DM, then performed the 1 way sync again and still it shows up.

Thanks

I have not heard of this, but maybe remove your pic from outlook, sync the address book, and tansfer you pic via DM, and add it to your contact.

I agree with Nick. Dump the picture, sync and add back later. Outlook Express can be buggy with syncs. In fact, I did not realize it was an available option.

Outlook Express doesn't have a picture field. I think I figured it out. I think when I imported all my contacts originally from Curve to Address Book, the picture got attached to numerous contacts, but I couldn't tell since there is no picture field in AB.
My fix was to configure the field mapping in DM to not sync the non-viewable picture field from AB to the Curve. Then I wiped out AB and synced Curve to AB with no pictures. Problem solved.

Hmm, that is still weird how the PictureID still got blasted to your other contacts on your initial sync. Weird. How was the PictureID inputted to your contact the very first time? On the device or maybe via Microsoft Outlook?

My wife took a pic of me with the curve and added it to my contact info. Then I did the 1-way sync to Address Book. I cleaned up her contacts and the did a 1-way sync back and chose the option to replace all data. Strange. What I find just as weird is tat when I use the field mapping in the DM, it says Address Book has a picture field, but the actual program doesn't show one. Does Outlook Address Book have one? If so, then I am assuming the two products are the same platform with the OE Address Book having reduced functionality.

Default Same problem ...

Hello,

I have same problem with PictureID. I sync my BB with Windows Vista Contacts and in Vista some contacts have pictures but when I sync BB all contacts in BB have pictures. I used one way sync to BB but it didn't help.
Syncing same Vista contacts with iPhone is correct.

Any ideas??
