Default Little Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I've had my Pearl for about 4 months now, and i love it. But i do have a single problem wich i cannot find the answer for, so i hoped you could help me out.

Im in the Dominican Republic and we have 2 area codes 809 and 829. Every contact in my address book that i have that starts with 829, when i dial them i get a "+" in front making the call impossible, so i have to dial by hand the number. So is there any way i can turn that off?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Go to Phone Dialer screen > Options > Smart Dialing. Set your area code there as well as your Country code in this format "+xx" where xx=your country code.

That comes from the Smart dialing under Phone >Options >Smart Dialing.

That's going to be a setting for your country. Open Call Log/menu/options/smart dialing. My US Country code says +1, so I think it adds a 1 to any 10 digit US phone number. I'm not sure what you need there, but changing that setting will probably fix it.
Edit: I lose again!

Put YOUR area code, the one your phone is calling from.

For your country code, look in the phone book or call your phone company.
Maybe google.com?

**EDIT: it appears 809 and 829 are country codes?
International Dialing Codes

The national number length is the number of digits without the country code.
