Default Curve Constantly Accessing Network

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, My 8310 is just today constantly accessing the network and it is running my battery out and making everything run slow. I have an AT&T branded phone but am using it on TMO network. I have had it working fine for 6 months until now and have not installed anything new in the past several weeks. Anyone eve hear of this?
UPDATE:
When I go to Mobile Network Options and turn off Data Services the problem stops. So I guess the questions is, why is my phone constantly seeking data access?

What apps are currently running?

Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, BerryWeather, stuff like that?

Also, look for applications you may have installed that are running in the background when you think you have closed them.

My bet is on an instant messenger app, or as MM suggests above, facebook.

The only apps that keep running are Home Screen, Call Log (assume this is phone), Browser, Messages, BB Messenger and Push-to-Talk. I have tried to exit all of these but they remain on. I don't have a Facebook account and have never used it on my phone. No other IM apps either. I had Ubertwitter running smoothly for the past 6 weeks or so but deleted the app when this problem arose. I have performed probably 8 battery pulls since this started as well. The Push-to-Talk app is curious. I have never used it and when I try to start it it warns me that additional charges will apply IF i initialize it, so I always choose "No" and it does not start. Why it still appears in my "running apps" list is a mystery. I have never used it and don't think I even can use it.

I have used several Google apps for years without issue but upon searching here for solutions, I have carefully "exited' or "closed" each one (several times - even though they were already closed).

TMO Blackberry tech is baffled as well.

I wonder how in the world you ended up with Push to Talk on an AT&T (or even a TMobile) 8310. There's no BlackBerry PTT for that model nor for those carriers (I do not believe).

Is "Call Log" really open or is it the Phone application?

You can't close the Home Screen, BBM, Browser, Phone, or Messages applications. But none of those use data when you aren't using them.

What's your File Free?

What other applications do you have installed?

Yes, call log is Phone App as far as I can tell.

PTT came on with the OS I installed after wiping this BB 8310 (version 4.5.0.182). I have not ever attempted to use it. Strange.

How do i check file free?

I have Google: Maps/Mobile App/Sync/Talk/Voice/Gmail and something called Enhanced Gmail Plug-in.

A friend mentioned that this might have something to do with GPS. I can't seem to shut it off.

Check the File Free by going to Options > Status and read the third line.

Does the app that's install really say "Google: Maps/Mobile App/Sync/Talk/Voice/Gmail"? Or is that a bunch of different apps?

I wonder if something with the Google Mobile App is constantly running. And if you have Google Sync installed, is there anything unusual in your set up?

Ok, File Free is 16382514 Bytes

All the Google References are different stand-alone apps. I just deleted Google Maps and Google Mobile App that didn't help. I think I will delete Google Sync. That would be my thought for most likely culprit.
NOTE: Hmmm. I just went to Google Sync and it says in red: "Another sync client has been adding events to the Blackberry calendar. To avoid duplicates Google Sync will not keep these events up to date." This could be something.

NOTE 2: Deleting Google Sync did nothing.

Not to beat a dead horse here but interestingly enough, I turned on my BB today and the "data thrashing" (my term) has simply stopped as quickly as it started. Stranger than strange. I don't know if this was a network thing or a device issue but it has stopped not due to anything I did.
