Default Bold to Torch Advice

Please Login to Remove!

I'm interested in any advice about moving from my Bold 9700 to the Torch. Are RIM's slider phones pretty troule free?

Being that my Bold only has 256MB device memory, anything current would be an upgrade, but of the 3 I see AT&T offering as upgrades for me, I seem to like the looks of the Torch 9810.

Comments?

I'm running OS6 v 615 now, and have shrunk OS via BB Boss in an attempt to resolve recent problems with the 9700 bogging down on a frequent basis. Really need to upgrade.

Check the 9800 section. The 9800 is too new for many issues or reviews for that matter.

I really like my 9800 and am also considering the 9810.

How long have you had the 9800? I guess my concern is how the slider phones hold up. I haven't heard any bad foar any brand, but haven't researched it much either...

I've had my 9800 since they were introduced. The slider is still as solid and smooth as the day I unboxed it. It has been one of the most trouble free BBs I've ever had.

One of the guys got a 9900 to replace his 9000. It is a nice device, but the main thing I noticed is how much more responsive it is with the 1.2GHz CPU, more memory and OS 7 improvements. If I was in a position to upgrade the 9810 would be my current choice. The 9900 is a nice device, but my aging eyes like the larger display.

Thanks for your input. The larger display on the Torch is the biggest feature that will sell me on it. It's not quite time yet for me to upgrade. I have another month or so before I can get any kind of discount. Like you, I have aging eyes as well.
