Default Calendar issues

Please Login to Remove!

first off, its on a curve. everything worked fine 2 days ago then all of a sudden yesterday my events on my home screen disappeared and i noticed that i now have a "device default" calendar which i have never seen before. i cleared my calendar through device manager and the default calendar went away but now none of the birthdays show up and obviously all events are gone and if i try to re-add the calendar through device manager it restores the "device default" calendar on the phone. i can re-add the events no problem but it still wont display birthdays if i dont restore the calendar through device manager. also i have a different theme on my phone which displays the calendar of events on my home screen and using the "device default" calendar it will not display the events. please help! i also feel that i am forgetting some things in this post so if there are any questions, feel free to ask. thanks in advance

The BB Creates a calendar for each Email address you have.. I had a similiar problem when I removed all my Gmail accounts and re-added them due to the BIS 2.6 upgrade..

My default calendar was [email address] so that is what I synced with.. after I removed that account from my BB all my calendar events for [email address] got transfered to "Device Default" and I could not sync it with my Desktop.

What I did was:

1. Make sure you desktop calendar has all the most updated info in it.
2. I deleted all my calendar entries from my BB, by using the Backup/Restore -> Advanced and cleared my calendar. From the Desktop Manager. (You might want to back it up first but that is your choice.)
3. On the BlackBerry Option -> Advanced Options -> Default Services, CICAL is the default calendar setting set that what you want.
4.Then sync with your desktop and it will add all your calendar events back in to the calendar you want.

Then when you open you calendar you will see all your events on the first screen.

I have set up my Windows calendar on my laptop, when I tried to transfer it to my storm I received an error message that says cannot complete bluetooth file transfer and make sure the OBEX file push profile is installed. What is the OBEX profile and how do I install it?

Normally I would recommend starting a new thread for a new issue.

Try syncing via USB first tomake sure that works.

BlueTooth is a whole nother beast, especially on Windows Vista.

Read this link, OBEX is part of the BT protocol.

Ugh, I was in the same boat yesterday with the gmail issue completing the BIS upgrade. I just remembered how screwed up that made things. Thankfully, I am psychotic about synching my BlackBerry and Outlook - so I was okay when I killed my gmail account (which of course was linked to ALL my calendar entries).....

I have a Curve 8900, but cannot find the Back Up/Restore in the Options.
Where else would I find it?

You should have the Backup/Restore inside the desktop manager.

I have had similar calendar issues, but lost nearly 400 newer events from outlook, though they remain on device default calendar on BB. Outlook won't synch with default, only my CICAL account. Can these be merged. Anything I should try?

Have you tried removing all your email accounts from your BB and then run the sync?

For step two, to clear your calendar, you could also do the following on the device:

Go into your Calendar > Options > Scroll to the bottom > type RSET (you won't see anything being typed). You will then be prompted which calendars you want to wipe.

Thanks for the instructions. Worked a treat. However, when I re-synced the device all of my calendar entries prior to today did not appear. Everything in the future appeared though and I guess that is what counts.

Head back into the desktop manager and go back into the calendar sync, make sure it is set to sync all appointments not just future events.
