My Pearl track ball won't scroll to the left. Up, down and to the right work fine. Any ideas?

Turn the device off.

Press and roll the ball, initially to the left and then all around for about a minute. This will dislodge any dirt and lint that might be blocking a contact.

Turn it back on and it should now work.

You can also press the ball down and blow some "canned" air all around it.

And finally, don't carry it in your pocket, use a case.

If that never worked try a very little ammount of rubbing alcohol on a paper towl(befor, (urn off anf take battery out) and rub firmly in circles.
If that doesn't work. You can take it out. I have done it several times. I have had 6 swaps because of the same problem. I got tierd and worked up the guts and took the ball out. And wow. You wouldn't believe the fuzz inside. She as good as new

Try Dubdub's suggestions first. Trackball replacement is relatively easy, but there is no need to take your BlackBerry apart if cleaning resolves the issue.

I posted a site where and how to clean it properly. Unless you have warrinty and not comfortable doing it. Just do a swap

you could face your device down and lightly tap on the back with your finger. this usually works for me when it gets stuck like that.
