I was about to reply in the other thread but am glad you split your issue out, definitely this is a head-scratcher.

Now, you stated twice that both the 9700's are running on Rogers and OS .862, but you implied (but did not outright say) that both 9700's are Rogers-branded 9700's (as opposed to one being an unlocked T-Mo/AT&T or an unbranded (RIM) 9700. Let's start there: are they both Rogers-branded 9700's?

What I'm reading across several boards/forums is that [for non-engineering screen work-arounds], that it has to be Rogers 9700's using .862 on Rogers' Network. I have not (just what I read, mind you), seen any other combo's work -- other than that accomplished using engineering screens -- and who wants to do that after every reboot?
