I agree with lgreenberg. Blackberrys are mainly used for email / messaging, as they do an incredible job in this area. In my opinion, the 8700c that I have, does an excellent job at surfing the web, as well as a regular phone, in addition to the messaging capabilities. The speaker phone is loud and clear. I also use the 8700c as my only phone. I have no land line.

Of course, the reception will depend on the carrier and your location. Unfortunately, we all have dead spots somewhere!

I have always been big on smartphones, at least until I got a BB 7100t last September. Since then upgraded to the 8700c, on T-Mobile's network, and have not looked back at a smart phone since.

Main reason - - reliability - ease of use - big crisp display - and did I say reliability?

You can always try a BB or Treo and see how you like it. Most carriers have a 15 day return period.

Good luck!
