Over time you adapt to what you have if you like touchscreen go with the 9800 if you like solid phone with a track pad then go with the 9700. it is all what you desire in the phone. the OS on the device is the same ( if you do the leaked version of OS6 to the 9700) there for just some small functions you cannot do on the bold that you can do on the torch.
