The booklet that comes with the AT&T Bold states that you can use the bold as a wireless modem. However, online at the AT&T wireless site, the online version of the manual states as one of the prerequisites that a user must have a Laptop Connect Plan.
My users are all on a BES and they all have an Unlimited BlackBerry plan.
The questions are:
1. Do they have to purchase the Laptop Connect Plan?
2. If they don't "have" to purchase a plan why does it seem like AT&T is telling you that you have to? (Aside from the obvious reason that they want to make more money)

1. My understanding is that you don't have to purchase a Laptop Connect Plan. I tether now via Bluetooth with no extra data plan.
2. Why ask why?
