Ok, so you are not connected to BIS, you don't have a Data Plan that includes BlackBerry Data features.
-You will ONLY get the GREY WiFi logo icon on the homescreen,
-You will ONLY get the white dash in the Manage Connections screen.
-You will ONLY be able to connect the internet with WiFi when using the HOTSPOT browser (Options > Advanced > Browser = Hotspot and save).
