3rd party software "can not access network" error

I have a Blackberry 7130e on the Telus network here in Canada and am having difficulties getting any 3rd party software application to access their network. I have tried 5 different software products that download stock data from the internet and all return the error message can not access the network?? I can access the web directly and get e-mail no problem so Telus says tough luck!! I have tried to resolve this issue for weeks can anybody help please??
