curve 3G?

Well this ain't fair! My curve has 3G but it only using EDGE,it's so slow it embarrasses me when I'm with ma fellow Nokia users,what can I do to make it use 3G? I've went to option>device>advanced system settings>host routing table>option>register now, n received a text msg telling I've been registered,n switched my fone off,but it was useless! What can I do?
