No, Mac users cannot use BlackBerry Desktop Software. Yet. In September we should get the long-awaited BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac.

Until then, your options for updating are limited:
1. Use a pc. I keep an old IBM ThinkPad around just for this.
2. Run Windows through VMware or Boot Camp. Parallels
will not work. Something about the USB connection in Parallels prevents it.
