Basically, it comes down to this:

If you are an early adaptor of devices, and always want the latest and greatest, or if you think you may want to try a different carrier after a year, a one year contract is the way to go.

If getting the deeper discount on the cost of a device is more important to you than either of the above, then go with the two year deal.
