But does it actually tether in 3G? I was told by one of the AT&T guys I've talked to (later confirmed by a different AT&T guy) that the phone won't tether in 3G because BB hasn't put out the right driver for it (but then AT&T only offers the 167 OS so maybe later OS's have the right driver?). I told them that if I went to the Windows network center it showed a "3G Connection" and I could connect using that, but the guy said that it SAYS it's 3G but it's really not - he repeated that the Bold itself could surf on 3G but could only tether on EDGE. The little 3G fireball icon never appears on the AT&T Communication Manager - does it appear for you?

I want to upgrade the OS but don't know which one to use - everyone has complaints about the different ones. Some drain battery a lot faster, some drop calls every five minutes, some won't work with Bluetooth very well ... but that's a story for another thread, I guess.
