You should be able to test this yourself if you download the JDE 4.3 (if you can't get a real Pearl with OS 4.3).

Thanks again for the insight. I've been hoping that I can get around having to download & use the Windows-only JDE (as I usually develop on Linux), but it seems in this case it will be the best solution ...
