Default Issues with access of BES from a simulator on a remote machine

Issues with access of BES from a simulator on a remote machine:

Background:
  • A simulator is installed on a remote machine (not having BES on it)
  • BlackBerry Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Device Manager installed and running on it.
  • Remote machine is on the same domain as that of BES.
  • Outlook 2003 is installed on this remote machine and synchronization with Desktop Manager is successful.
  • We’ve a single user license for BlackBerry Manager

Issues:
  • Following the same steps as mentioned in the URL
(Livelink - Redirection) from BlackBerry site, we’re not able to connect the simulator running on the remote machine to the BES.
  • Enterprise Activation process never gets completed successfully on the simulator. After displaying the message “Acquiring service connection” for some time, the process ends abruptly with the error message “Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable”.
  • When the Enterprise Activation process starts, we observed that under the BB Device Manager’s Statistics tab, under the Bypass node -> Servers, a new child node gets added with the name “activationBBR.domain name.local:4101”. This node disappears immediately after the above error (“Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable”) occurs.

What we need to achieve?
  • We want to connect the BlackBerry simulator running on a remote machine (NOT having BES on it, but having Desktop Manager) to the BES.
  • We do not want to use the MDS simulator to access the application. Unless, if MDS simulator can be configured so as to point to our BES
  • How do we access the application through multiple simulators and multiple users by using different PINs?
  • Do we need to acquire multiple licenses for multiple users’ scenario?
  • Does BES support users from different domains
