In terms of the hardware, I can't say much...most of my issues have to do with the OS/software side. For example, why does setting a daily alarm [I use my 9700 as a bedside alarm clock] have to show up in the calendar app? I don't need a calendar entry to tell me to get up every morning! Speaking of bedside clock use, the clock display is WAY TOO BRIGHT. I find it literally bright enough to be a nightlight, even on bedside mode. In the middle of the night with my eyes dark-adapted, it's really hard to look at if I want to check the time.

One general thing that bugs me about many phones [not just BB] is the way the top of the phone is smooth and tapered, making it hard to remove from a slip case. It may sound like a small thing, but a little flaring or a grippy surface on the upper corners would make it a LOT easier to pull out of a case.

I also don't like the microSD port on the side...I can never get the cable plugged in without trying it the wrong way a few times.

So...some minor complaints, but really, the 9700 is a great phone....
