You say no new phones but what about the 9700? That has UMA.

For Tmobile, it makes good sense for them to keep uma. It's a unqiue feature that other carriers don't offer, along with the Hotspot@Home. And as mentioned previously, it helps deal with reception issues especially important areas like at home.
