As I understand it, BES doesn't have a MAPI connection open to each mailbox at once. It cycles through the mailboxes which is why msg latency can become an issue with too many registered mailboxes...

1 BES (single instance) (3.6.2) with 1,000 users running on a PIII 1.4GHz, 1GB RAM. A little msg latency during heavy e-mail hours but nothing major. Looking to upgrade H/W then S/W.
