I am not sure how 2 PB's could have that same problem...

Just to troubleshoot, have you tried changing plugs? Changing chargers? Are you possibly plugging in to the HDMI instead of the micro USB...

i havent been able to find out where, but the cloud reader downloads the book to the playbook once you open it. Once it is downloaded it does let you read and go through the book with wifi turned...

I have tried multiple times to backup my BB, on all the OS releases, but it doesn't happen. It shows that it is preparing, the PB shows the backup screen, but then I get an error message on the PC...

agreed. the books are downloaded onto memory, not stored in cache. i was trying to find the directory earlier so i could try to import my own books into the kobo ereader. smartly though it is hidden....

Whether we like Apple and iOS or not is simply irrelevant. This isn't about keeping up with them either, just for keeping up's sake. Apps are a universal must-have (imo), and the playbook is missing...
