I take it back - for some reason after a full charge the battery life went back to normal. I was dropping 2 bars per day after the upgrade but was only doing partial charges here and there.

It's not like this delay is an anomaly, they've always been very slow to release OS updates for BB devices compared to other carriers. I don't think the reason has anything to do with VVM. :?
