Received my warranty replacement 7250 today (brand spankin' new, thank goodness for extended warranty!) and it's sportin' the new 4.1 OS with a shiny 1XEV in the corner :)

Interesting, it's a newer rev of 4.1 than the Telstra release I've got on my 7250 (4.1.0.268). Maybe I need to purposefully brick my 7250 to get a replacement sent out :D

I'd say you're in for quite a wait if you're holding out for a CDMA version of the 8700 - getting a 7250 now is probably the best way to go.

The thing of the matter is this: The v550/v551 only uses EDGE while transferring MMS/tethering. For WAP browsing and downloads it only uses GPRS, and as such this explains why it is so unimpressive....

I'm having some issues with disconnections, but otherwise MSN seems to be working fairly well.

Edit: Disconnection issues seem to be resolved - Yak On! is working fantastically now :)
