Is there a GPS navigation s/w which allows the maps to be stored in the media card? I thought Garmin Mobile for BlackBerry did, but this s/w appears to need an internet connection to d/l the maps....

When you say "slow" do you mean the laptop slows down or the Blackberry or simply the download speed on the laptop?

And yes, BT will drain more battery than USB. Anything wireless usually drains...
