I emailed RIM and they said that the best way to preserve battery life is to ensure you have the latest OS which you do, so other than that, zilch :/

Thanks for your reply, the only apps I use are things like Facebook/Twitter and rarely news/sports apps, I think I'll probably go for the 9360, I've heard that OS7.1 has a battery saving application...

This is confusing, as for the past 12 months I've been on a plan that doesn't included BB services and I've been able to use the web with no problems, it just comes out of my data allowance.
