I strongly suggest you avoid 4.7.0.83. There are way too many glitches (like unlocking the screen, memory card issues, lag, etc...) that have been addressed...

My guess? they will grand-father the technology (but still use it) and put new users only on GSM 3G. Older customers will have to upgrade to a GSM phone within x number of years (guessing 5 years?)

Ok, dloaded it, installed it to PC, opened DM and it started backing up my BB, then my breaker shut down the electricity (cause of a new hottub)

So redid the steps and got it successfully...

I was in the same boat...and was able to transfer all my relevant info using the Motorola software (Mobile Phone Tools). The lastest version is pretty easy to use in order to extract your address...
