I've tried the security wipe. no luck.
I just clean installed the operating system. no luck.

it continues to work perfectly well once plugged in (comp or wall) and will turn off within a minute...

i just did a security wipe and the problem persisted. Am running the exe file which was downloaded for the OS. i hope this works. i'll update in a bit.

thanks dubdub,
the aftermarket charger was a BIG mistake. never again.
its charging perfectly fine via the USB cable and via the electrical charger. it doesn't even turn off while its connected....

i'm just doing a security wipe. i'll get back with the results. i have tried to reinstall the OS via the desktop manager but i get an error and cannot do so.
Is there any other way...
