easier way to getting to text messages(8700c)

right now i have to go saved messages then go to either compose sms text or view folder to go to my inbox. Is there an easier way to get to my inbox or compose by putting it on my home screen.

it wasnt saying this yesterday then i took the battery out and put it back now it say data connection refused?
