Default Biggest Problem Facing RIMM

Please Login to Remove!

I have been using the blackberry for the last 3 years, i have gone from the 8700--8800- and now the 8300. I find that Rimm is really lacking in there os. I look at the IPHONE, and see a great browser, high end email program, and a better media player. I compare it my blackberry and get depressed. The email is still basic text, and the browser is just about worthless when you compare it to the iphone. WAP may be nice for small screen phones, but overall is has been a dud. They added a media player to play videos, and a memory slot, but i think i am watching in slow motion on my bbry. I love my push email, and bbry messenger, but i am feeling that the os is starting to show its age and lacking in performance as the competition. I hear rumors, of improvement, but nothing has come yet. I have seen a few friends switch to the iphone already. I am waiting for the second gen iphone, but am also hoping rimm will get its act together and come with a better os.

all I can say is go to the iphone if you are that unhappy. I have carried a BB for 6 years now and I love it today as much if not more than I did the first time I picked it up.

Keep in mind as well that RIM prides itself on email and wireless sync. Everything else is secondary, especially it's media player abilities. Comapred to Apple, RIM is not a media driven company and is not near their level. But it's not RIM's business either. The BlackBerry out performs any device in it's class on what it's basically designed for, email. The iPhone has great browsing and media but it can't compete in the wireless sync or email world to a BlackBerry. That is not Apple's bread and butter.

It's fair to say that the iPhone matches it's companies business needs as n much as RIM's business needs.

Besides, the more features they add the more memory and battery life they use. And the iPhone is nowhere as small as most BlackBerries.

It really depends on what you need a device for.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

There are a lot of people who disagree, cryptmagic. The blackberry serves a market need. It serves my need, ideally. Sounds like it doesn't do it for you. No use waiting for the blackberry to become something its not. Use the device that works best for you.
