micro SD 4GB
help!
i just bought a 4GB for my 8800 the berry found it no problem but it was having problems in recieving files, so i formatted it nad its made it 121mb! ive tried formatting it in the 8800 and through xp but no joy... anyone got any ideas??? J |
I don't think the 8800 is capable of handling anything over 2 gigs.
|
Correct. That's why you're having issues. The card is not compatible with the device.
|
The 8300 seems to be compatible with the 4 or any size over it (based on the phone sccop info) I hope may be a new 8800 OS release will support it.
|
so the largest i can have is 2gb?
does anyone know of any software that will format the 4gb micro sd back to 4gb so i can sell it on? |

I'm sure this card will work in the near future.. you should hold on to it as it probably will be an os update just like the original pearl from 1gb to 2gb....
|
I have placed micro sd cards in digi camera and formatted them to trick phones and it has worked

phonescoop lists the 8300 as supporting 4gb microSD cards, if it does have an OS update to enable SDHC support will we be able to install that OS on the 8800? Has it been possible in the past to install an OS from a different model BB?

Just out of curiosity... but why would you need 4 gigs of space? To my own ignorance, I thought that it was just for media?
Please correct me if I am wrong. |
I have a 2 GB card and have filled it up with videos, songs, and data. I could go for another 2Gb.
|
I have nothing on mine (I am boring I guess) But it would not take long to fill 2gb up with songs and video...

Yes, it is just for media. Some people like to carry a lot of media with them. :D |
lol... ok... get the point
|
Just wanted to post an update - the 8830 does in fact support the 4gb - just be sure you have the latest OS installed. I've got it in mine right now - works great!
|
