FYI BIS Outage (??)
 

Received this from a vendor this morning....

Since late yesterday there has been an outage with BlackBerry BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service). For customers using BIS (usually for access to POP3 or IMAP4 email accounts) the ticket remains open and RIM is working on restoring service. For BES users, this service outage does not affect you.

We believe this outage is affecting BIS service across all carriers.

This e-mail is to inform you of a network problem that MAY affect your Mobile Data Service.

Location of Issue: All Regions ;All Markets

Start Time: 04-12-2007 5:00 P.M. PST

Symptoms you MAY experience: RIM Blackberry BIS 2.0 customers are unable to send or receive messages.

Yep, I had a outage of service for a couple of hours last evening... all was back to working fine before midnight last night.

seems to be working fine for me here in the northern new jersey area

I had problems a few nights ago for several hours but I just tested again (Gmail account on BIS) and it is all zippy and good.
