Gps?

I want to buy a GPS adapter for my Pearl, which one should I get? Any Recommendations?

Eazym187 12-18-2006 11:13 PM

Anyone?

It need a bluetooth GPS. You can find several of them on Ebay. I will avoid the 32 channels ones though because I think they just say that when it really is not.

I have the Holux GPSlim 240. Works fine for me and uses the same usb connector as my Pearl for recharging.

I use the GlobalSat BT-359 , though I have an 8700g . Works great with BBMaps, and setup was a cinch. Should be fine with the Pearl too.

I have the Globalsat BT359W also for my 8703e and am very happy. Really good reception, and it was easy pairing.

Brucejr, what software are you using? does it act just like other standalone gps divices with rerouting features and turn by turn instructs?

After reading stinsonddog's extensive GPS review Stinsonddog's Blackberry GPS Review I went with Wayfinder Navigator Lifetime for $99. Telenav has the best POI in the US but I liked the one time price I paid on Wayfinder. Both Google Maps and Blackberry Maps are *free programs (remember you need to check your data plan roaming etc. since you will use a lot with these programs). I am real happy so far.

Did you see my thread on the new WF POI's. I found all my Starbucks when I didn't before.

No I am going to have to investigate that. Does this mean they are updating POI's in the US? That would be awesome.

Just read the thread. AWESOME! I am going to have to check it on the way home and see what is "visible" now in the way of local POI's when I do a search. Thanks for the update and the awesome GPS review!(y)

Cool Beans! POI's in my area are now "visible!" Woo Hoo! (y)
